1958
Hindalco's history dates back to the young Indian democracy of the 1950s. Hindalco Aluminium was then founded in 1958
1962
Renukoot visionary GD Birla built India's first integrated aluminum plant on the eastern edge of Uttar Pradesh, Renukoot. Operations were launched in 1962.
1967
In 1967, the aluminum plant was expanded to include its own thermal power plant in Renusagar.
Subsequently, further plants were built across the entire Indian territory.
2007
The acquisition of Novelis Inc., the worlds largest aluminium rolling mills, by Hindalco in 2007 has enabled Hindalco to expand its presence around the globe and secure a place among the top five aluminum companies in the world.
